Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a broader category of therapy that includes neurofeedback. Biofeedback uses signals from your body to improve your physical health. This is accomplished by training patients to better control physiological processes, such as heart rate, blood pressure, peripheral blood flow, and muscle tension.

At Advanced Neurotherapy, we utilize the following biofeedback modalities and devices to improve overall body function.

Treatment RoomHomoencephalography (HEG)
Bioacoustical utilization device (BAUD)
Heart Rate Variablility (HRV)
Alpha Stim

HEG

Hemoencephalography is a biofeedback technique that rewards increases in blood oxygenation within the brain. The device we use rewards increases in blood oxygenation to the brain’s frontal locations. Increased blood oxygenation to the brain is correlated with improvements in brain function and improvements in brain health.

BAUD

The BAUD is a device that uses sound to improve the efficiency of the interconnection between the brain’s left and right hemispheres. BAUD is effective with disorders such as: anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, outburst and tantrums, depression, and compulsive behavior. BAUD works by helping the individual separate negative feelings and behaviors from the situations, thoughts, or events that trigger them.

HRV

Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback teaches your brain to correct the synchronization of your heart beat intervals and your breathing rate. HRV is an effective application for helping individuals with conditions such as elevated stress, depression, anxiety, hypertension, insomnia, weight control, and anger control.

Alpha Stim

Alpha Stim is a therapy that gently stimulates the brain using a very low level electrical signal. It works by stimulating the brain to produce seratonin and other important neurochemicals. Alpha Stim is effective in treating depression, insomnia, pain, and anxiety.
